Spring is in the air and the new homes at Terramor are the perfect place to create your own oasis. Temescal Valley is known for its beautiful wildflowers and mountainscapes, and new gardens help accent the natural beauty all around. Here are some tips to help flex your green thumb just in time for spring.
From low-maintenance and desert-friendly designs to pops of color and succulents, the possibilities are endless. A great place to start is this list of plants native to the area. Certain plants and flower bulbs can be planted in spring for a summer bloom. If there are specific colors or flower types you’re anticipating for the summer months, find out if now is a good time to include them.
Add a personal touch to your home’s exterior with stylish landscaping. Succulents are an easy and inexpensive way to add greenery while stones and pavers can be utilized to design walkways or general outdoor décor. Use potted plants as accents in your garden with the bonus of easy maintenance and flexibility. Decorative pots and vases can help tie your patio furniture together with colors and designs.
It is important in California to ensure your garden is drought-friendly. Watering between sunset and sunrise can help reduce the amount of water needed by almost 30% less due to temperature, wind and evaporation. It’s also a good idea to group plants with similar water needs in the same area to keep it consistent.
Lastly, comfortable patio furniture will make your outdoor living space ideal for entertaining or dining al fresco. The opportunities are endless to create your dream backyard and garden at your new home at Terramor.
